Mental Illness (MI) Fellowship Victoria is proud to announce that Dr Sam Tsemberis, Chief Executive Officer of Pathways to Housing in the United States, will deliver this year’s Woodcock Lecture in Melbourne on Thursday 31 May 2012.
The lecture will explore achievements, challenges and hopes in creating stable housing for people with mental illness.

Journeys Home: Wave 1 findings
Journeys Home: Longitudinal Study of Factors Affecting Housing Stability aims to improve the understanding of, and policy response to, the diverse social, economic and personal factors related to homelessness and the risk of becoming homeless.
Wave 1 fieldwork was completed at the end of November 2011. Dr Rosanna Scutella from the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research presented an analysis of the First Wave findings at the National Homelessness Research Conference on 20 April 2012.
International Homelessness Policy Review – A report to inform the review of homelessness legislation in Wales
The Welsh Government commissioned a review of homelessness legislation in Wales.
The review is being led by Cardiff University in partnership with Heriot-Watt University, Swansea University, the Wales Institute of Social & Economic Research, Data and Methods (WISERD) and Tamsin Stirling. The researchers have produced a report which reviews relevant UK and international literature, as well as providing an in‐depth analysis of a selection of other countries with promising approaches.
AHURI Positioning Paper: Homelessness prevention for women and children who have experienced domestic and family violence: innovations in policy and practice
The purpose of this research project is to explore the value and challenges of innovative staying at home homelessness prevention measures, such as Staying Home Leaving Violence schemes in Australia, and Sanctuary schemes in England and Wales.
AHURI Final Report: Pathways into and within social housing
This study’s aim was to examine a range of pathways into and within the existing social housing system in Australia, particularly at a time of significant changes to the sector. The study outlines how the policies and practices of social housing providers help shape these pathways.
