AHURI event: Providing affordable housing and tackling disadvantage

Join the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) in Sydney on Tuesday 14 October 2014, during Anti-Poverty Week as participants discuss ways to address poverty in disadvantaged areas. For everyone working in the areas of social disadvantage and community housing, this event is timely and very relevant. In particular, it is significant in light of the McClure Welfare Review, which has made ‘building community capacity’ one of its four reform pillars.

Homelessness Australia, the national peak body for homelessness in Australia, is holding its biennial conference.

Front-line providers, academics, governments and agencies and those with a lived experience of homelessness will connect at the NCH2014 to identify the multiple and interwoven causes of homelessness, unpack the elements of successful programs, policies and practices, and seek ways these can be applied to prevent and end homelessness.
