Time for Youth is an incorporated ’not-for-profit’ agency with the aim of ‘minimising homelessness and creating opportunities with young people and their families’.
Time for Youth is governed by a Board of community members and has been operating in the Barwon Region for more than 20 years.
Time for Youth is a key provider of services for vulnerable young people aged 10 – 25 and their families including accommodation (crisis and transitional housing), housing support, information, referral to the wider service network and innovative youth and family interventions as well as a range of other initiatives to assist young people to develop their sense of belonging and connections to family and their community.
Time for Youth in Geelong runs The Youth Food Project where they provide:
- Free breakfast every Wednesday morning 8.30 – 10.00 am at the Old Post Office open to all young people
- The Cafe Meals Club Project – a meal for the cost of $3.00 up to the value of $12.00 at selected cafes around Geelong, Colac and the Bellarine Peninsula as well as several school canteens for eligible ‘at risk’ youth. Referrals forms are available from Time for Youth at www.timeforyouth.com.au
- Cooking classes for clients who are in lead tenant or transition housing
