The Australian Government has provided funding under the 2009-13 National Homelessness Research Agenda to the Swinburne University of Technology to undertake longer term research into homeless youth in the Geelong region of Victoria.
A number of provisional reports will be produced during the life of The Geelong Study. The first of this series is A Review of Victorian Education Initiatives Relating to Youth Homelessness.
Report 1: A Review of Victorian Education Initiatives Relating to Youth Homelessness
The purpose of this report is to review how the Victorian education sector addressed youth homelessness. The report is a contextual scan of the Victorian Education context for relevant policy, projects and program initiatives. The specific question on The Geelong Study research agenda addressed by this report is:
- In what ways does the Victorian education system work with other service providers to assist young people who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless?
Below are links to the Full Report and an Evidence Note that provides a summary of the report findings.
